By inscribing a few sigils into the air, shimmering arcane chains with a shining point erupt from the ground and strike at creatures.

For the duration, these chains turn the ground in the area into Difficult Terrain.

When a creature enters the affected area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 Arcane damage and potentially becoming

Restrained
by the chains.

Critical Success (+10). The target is unaffected.
Success. The target takes half damage.
Failure. The target takes full damage and is Restrained for the duration of the spell.
Critical Failure (–10). As failure, except the target takes 1.5× damage and all magickal effects of 4th-Level or lower on it are dispelled.


A creature that starts its turn in the area and is already Restrained by the chains takes 3d6 Arcane damage and has all magickal effects of 4th-Level or lower on it dispelled. A creature Restrained by the chains can use its action to make a Strength or Dexterity check (its choice) against your spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself.
